Ardesia recuperata dallo stesso bidone del marmo bianco, poco fuori dal cimitero di Staglieno.

Si tratta di scarti di lavorazione e prove di taglio di uno dei tanti marmisti della zona.
L’ardesia, in barre così sottili (circa 1/2 cm) si taglia facilmente con il Dremel e la ruota diamantata, ma anche con le tenaglie, se il risultato che si vuole ottenere è di tipo più grezzo.
Per lavorarla uso anche lime per metalli (piatte o a sezione rotonda a seconda dei casi) e carta abrasiva.

No, slate is not hard to cut, but it depends mainly from the direction of the cutting and the layers of stone. If I cut perpendicularly to the layers I use the Dremel with diamond wheel, otherwhise It's better to cut manually with pincers, if the piece is not too big.
