Scale reproduction of a medieval three mullioned window, made with brick
scraps, natural stone and other materials.
THE PIECE IN DETAIL:
In the 14th century, the characteristic black and white bands on the facades
were the prerogative of few rich families, whose sumptuous palaces can still
be admired in the old part of the city. Over the course of time, subsequent
interventions left their mark, altering in most cases the appearance of the
original buildings. This model reconstructs a small three-part window
(trifora) crowned by a two-tone round arch that stands out against
the red background of the façade.
The materials used are: Brick for the façade wall and the lombard
band, gray slate and alabaster for the main arch, alabaster
for the capitals, Sculpey polymer clay for the shaft of the
columns, cement, vinyl glue. All the elements are worked
without the use of molds, which makes it a unique piece that will hardly be
replicated with identical characteristics.
