Here is the very first piece for sale on Etsy by the Domus project.
It's a scale reproduction of a three mullioned window, similar to the
windows built for the corner room of the 1st floor (see
here and
here).
THE PIECE IN DETAIL:
In the 14th century, the characteristic black and white bands on the facades
were the prerogative of few rich families, whose sumptuous palaces can still
be admired in the old part of the city. Over the course of time, subsequent
interventions left their mark, altering in most cases the appearance of the
original buildings. This model reconstructs a small three-part window
(trifora) crowned by a pointed arch with polygonal voussoirs that connect
with the two-color bands of the façade.
The materials used are: Carrara marble and Ligurian slate for the façade
wall, Volterra alabaster for the capitals and internal arches, Sculpey
polymer clay for the shaft of the columns, terracotta bricks for the
tympanum, cement, vinyl glue. All the elements are worked with manual or
mechanical tools without the use of molds, which makes it a unique piece
that will hardly be replicated with identical characteristics.
The object is already framed and equipped with a bracket to hang it on the
wall. It is particularly suitable for decorating a living room or a study /
office.
Size: 6,5 x 10 x 1 cm (2,5 x 3,9 x 0,4 in)
